PROFESSOR JON KROSNICK
Lab Director
Jon is a social psychologist who does research on attitude formation, changes, and effects, on the psychology of political behavior, and on current survey research methods. He is the Frederic O. Glover Professor in Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor of Communication, Political Science, and (by courtesy) Psychology. At Stanford, besides his professorships, he directs the Political Psychology Research Group and the Summer Institute in Political Psychology.

BO MACINNIS, PhD
Lecturer
Bo MacInnis is a Ph.D. economist from the University of California at Berkeley. Her research focuses on climate change and survey research methods. She is a Lecturer in the Department of Communication, and regularly collaborates with Jon on climate change research.

JARED McDONALD, PhD
Post Doctoral Fellow
Jared McDonald earned his Ph.D. in Government and Politics at the University of Maryland. He is interested in public opinion and the electoral accountability. He is currently working with Jon on research concerning public opinion about climate change.

SEBASTIAN LUNDMARK, PhD
Researcher, SOM Institute, University of Gothenburg, and PPRG Team Member
Sebastian earned his Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. His main research interest is in survey methodology and is working with Jon as a postdoc within the Replication Project.

LIBBY JENKE, PhD
Assistant Professor of Political Science, University of Houston; PPRG Team Member
Libby Jenke earned her Ph.D. in Political Science at Duke University. She studies questions of voter behavior, such as the role of identity in voter choice, gender, and race’s effect on candidate evaluations, and variability in the voting models used by citizens.

LAUREN HOWE, PhD
Post Doctoral Fellow, University of Zurich
Lauren earned her Ph.D. in Social Psychology at Stanford University. She is interested in public communication about political issues, motivated reasoning, and public distrust in opinion polls.

MATTHEW BERENT, PhD
CEO of Matt Berent Consulting, PPRG Team Member
Matthew Berent earned his Ph.D. in Social Psychology at The Ohio State University. He runs his own consulting firm and worked with Jon on survey question design and voting behavior. His research interests include human-computer interactions and consumer data.

MATTHEW DeBELL, PhD
Director of Stanford Operations, American National Election Studies, PPRG Team Member
Matthew DeBell earned his Ph.D. in government at Georgetown University. DeBell has been Director of Operations for the American National Election Studies since 2006. His research areas include questionnaire design and public opinion.

ERAN AMSALEM, PhD
Assistant Professor of Communication, Hebrew University of Jerusalem; PPRG Team Member
Eran Amsalem earned his Ph.D. in Communication at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He studies the effects of mass and interpersonal political communications on political attitudes. Eran is currently working with Jon on research examining the optimal way to measure attitudes in surveys.

LISANNE WICHGERS, PhD
CEO of Lisanne Wichgers Consulting; PPRG Team Member
Lisanne Wichgers earned her Ph.D. in Political Communication and Journalism at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR), at the University of Amsterdam. Her main interests are freedom of speech, anti-immigration parties, framing and survey methodology. She runs her own consulting firm and is working with Jon within the Replication Project.

KAYLA BURD, PhD
Assistant Professor of Psychology, University of Wyoming; PPRG Team Member
Kayla Burd earned her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology with a concentration in Law, Psychology, and Human Development at Cornell University. She studies biases in memory, reasoning, and decision making within legal contexts. She is currently working with Jon on research examining name order effects in Wyoming elections.

CATHERINE CHEN; Graduate Student
Catherine is a Ph.D. student concentrating in political communication. Currently, her research focuses on public opinion and survey methodologies in both the U.S and China.

Natalie is interested in political polarization, party loyalty, and persuasion techniques that lead to lasting attitude change.

DIANA JORDAN
Undergraduate RA
Diana is a senior pursuing a B.A. in Political Science, a B.A.H. in Communication, and a Minor in English. She is currently applying to PhD programs in Political Science and has worked with PPRG since January 2020. Outside of PPRG, Diana enjoys working as a Research Assistant and Administrative Assistant for the Media and Personality Lab. In her free time, Diana enjoys working as a Political Science Peer Advisor, conducting research with FLI (first-generation low-income) college students, and cooking.

LARISSA BERSH
Undergraduate RA
Larissa is a senior at Stanford pursuing a B.A.H. in psychology with minors in political science and English. Her research in the PPRG explores the ease of p-hacking (scientists' misuse of data analysis to procure significant results). Outside of the PPRG, Larissa is passionate about fighting food insecurity, including through her work as the co-president of Stanford Food Recovery. In her free time, she enjoys working out, attempting crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and writing.

SIERRA BURGON

Sierra is a senior at Stanford pursuing a B.A. in Human Biology with a concentration in Health Determinants and Policy and a minor in Psychology. Upon graduation, she plans to attend law school and pursue a career working with health policy. Outside of the PPRG, Sierra serves as an advisor for Healing Strokes.

JESSICA GONZALEZ
Undergraduate RA
Jessica Gonzalez is a senior pursuing a B.A.H in Political Science and Minors in Economics and Data Science. Jessica has worked with the PPRG since her freshman year, crafting legislative histories for all 50 states, spearheading a study on the effects of candidate ethnicity on voter choice in simulated elections, and establishing the Center for Excellence in Survey Research. Upon graduation, she plans to attend a dual MBA/JD program.

KYRA WHITELAW
Undergraduate RA
Kyra Whitelaw is a senior majoring in Political Science, also hoping to pursue a coterminal M.A, in Communications. She is particularly interested in environmental and climate change policy and law. Outside of the lab, Kyra enjoys skiing, hiking, playing tennis, and attending Stanford athletic events.

Mitchell is a senior majoring in Political Science and Music Composition, planning to study law - music copyright in particular - after graduation. Outside of the PPRG, Mitchell studies political philosophy and voting methods, composes classical music, and performs with Stanford's orchestras.

KELLY CLAVEL

Kelly Clavel is a senior pursuing a B.A. in Political Science and a Minor in Urban Studies. She is particulary interested in the intersection of law, education, and policy. She is currently writing an Honors Thesis through the Graduate School of Education, and upon graduating plans to pursue a joint MPP/JD program. Outside of PPRG, Kelly enjoys spending time with friends and family, cake decorating, and spending time with her dog.

CAI ZEN
Undergraduate RA
Cai is a senior double majoring in Psychology and Philosophy. She is interested in understanding how conceptions of human nature shape political and ethical theories, as well as asking questions about what it means to live a good life. In her free time, she leads The Dualist, Stanford's Undergraduate Philosophy Association, and enjoys wandering through the woods and being lost in the rhythms of poetry.

Sean is a junior at Stanford majoring in Economics and Political Science. He's particularly interested in game theory and the field of law and economics. Outside of school, he loves running, playing soccer, and writing.

Hannah is a sophomore at Stanford pursuing a major in Political Science with focuses on Justice and Law and International Relations. Outside of PPRG, she serves as the Sophomore Class President and is involved in the Stanford Daily, Stanford Women in Politics, Stanford Pre Law Society, and the Stanford ACLU. In her free time she enjoys dancing, traveling, cooking, exercising, and spending time with friends and family.

KARTHICK ARUNACHALAM

Karthick is a sophomore planning on majoring in economics and political science. He is particularly interested in fiscal and monetary policy, development economics, and econometrics, hoping to uncover the ways in which economic analysis can change the world for the better. In his free time, he enjoys watching NBA basketball and reading political satire.

BHAVYA SHAH

Bhavya is a sophomore at Stanford studying theoretical Computer Science with interests in education, disability studies, and mass communication. He is active in Stanford's competitive debate team and is a member of the Stanford Disability Alliance. Outside of academics, he enjoys watching Indian comedy TV shows, having long conversations, and eating good food.

HALEY SILVA

Haley is a sophomore pursuing a major in Political Science with a specialization in elections, representation, and governance. She is interested in understanding how psychological factors contribute to voter behavior and civic engagement, as well as how to improve these attitudes among young people. Outside of PPRG, Haley is involved with the StanfordVotes initiative and loves spending time with her friends and family.

She is particularly interested in issues surrounding justice and law as well as in the intersection of climate change and human rights. She is particularly interested in data science and its applications to behavioral economics. In her free time, Liz enjoys Ultimate frisbee, listening to music, and playing violin.

Connor is a sophomore at Stanford planning on pursuing studies in computer science, earth systems, and management science. He is particularly interested in policy analysis relating to climate change. In his free time, Connor enjoys traveling, snowboarding, and tennis.
